Faiz was imprisoned in the Philippines for nine years on explosives and weapons charges. After being released he travelled to Syria in 2014 and joined IS.
Faiz appeared alongside Mohammad Reza Lahaman Kiram and Mohamad Rafi Udin in an IS propaganda video that showed them beheading three prisoners in 2016.
