Malik also known as, Sayfuddin Ingushi originally traveled to Syria through Turkey and attended a terrorist training camp. After completing his training, Barkhanoev joined an ISIS group in Syria.
In 2015, Barkhanoev publically announced that he was fighting alongside ISIS and was based in the Syrian city of Manbij.
